The Constitutional Suicide…

Once, the prevailing doctrine was: Greece decides and Cyprus follows. Later it changed to: We decide together. Then it took a new form: Cyprus decides and Greece supports. Now what is the foundation of appeasement policy? Servants of Ankara. Both Athens and Nicosia are washing the bloodstained hands of Turkey and presenting it clean before the international community. So, it can pose as a peacemaker in Ukraine while consolidating the double partition of the Aegean and Cyprus.

Turkey is advancing rapidly because it possesses power and a geopolitical position that it knows how to exploit. For this reason, our EU partners invite it to participate in a possible multinational force in Ukraine: to turn it from invader and butcher into peacemaker. And how do Cyprus and Greece act? They constantly give her an alibi, at every opportunity.

In the end, the EU - once regarded as our support - will, because of its own interests and our own mistaken handling, become our Achilles’ heel. It will take the baton from Athens. And, in the logic of ridding itself of the “burden” of the Cyprus problem, it will together tighten the noose around the neck of the Republic of Cyprus - paving the way for its dissolution.

Meanwhile, Tufan Erhürman comes storming in, warning President Nikos Christodoulides that if he is “elected” as the new leader of the occupied north this October, negotiations will proceed with timetables and all that entails, including the divisive convergences. His aim, along with Ankara’s, is to achieve what was not achieved under the Annan Plan. What is that? As Talat once said, -and as Erhürman now repeats: the goal is the recognition of the pseudo-state’s rightful place within the international community!

And then, Mr. President, you will find yourself caught in a vice, squeezed by Europeans, Americans, and Russians, but above all by our own, particularly AKEL, and why not DISY as well. Needless to say, the dance of partition will be led by the Athenian state of Mitsotakis. And you had better pray, Mr. President, that Global Leader (Mr Trump) does not get involved. Because he will not deliver the coup de grâce himself. He will make you pull the trigger. And at the very moment you become the constitutional suicide, everyone will applaud you - for having taken the responsibility upon yourself and released them from a difficult dilemma. All of this, on the corpse of the Republic of Cyprus…
